Adam Avalos is a podcast person.

Living in Los Angeles, California, and working to bring podcasts everywhere.

My podcast career began in 2008, when I decided to click the “Podcasts” option on my iPod classic’s main menu out of sheer curiosity. Stuff you Should Know sent me down the deepest rabbit hole of my life: podcasts. I’ve been listening to pods ever since, and in 2016, set my sights on becoming the best podcast producer I can be. I studied music in school and majored in Audio Production, while spending as much time in the studio as I could. Since I graduated in early 2020, just before the lockdown of Covid-19, I’ve been working as a virtual podcast consultant, editor, and producer for a variety of projects. Each podcast is a unique experience that helps me expand and improve my skills, both as a producer and as a team member.

“Why do you work in podcasts? Where’s the link for your own podcast?”

Although producing podcasts is the goal for me, and has been for more than a half-decade, I don’t care about having my own show. There are plenty of other people who have something to say…who also need help with production.

For me, the best feelings are helping others, and amplifying voices who need to be heard. Working in podcasting helps me do both. There are so many unheard voices, stories to listen to, and jokes to be told. I feel that podcasting as an industry is continuing to grow, despite the increasing amount of celebrity live streams and subscription shows. Quality pods are hard to find, much less create, and I believe I have the experience to balance the talent, content, and consistency needed to make memorable podcasts.

“Okay sure, but what do you do exactly?”

Podcast Production (of course)

I can and have helped with all aspects of podcast production, from the initial “Hey, we should start a podcast!” to “Why aren’t we getting the listener engagement we expected?”

Audio Production

During my time in college majoring in Music Production, I spent a lot of time in recording studios! I feel very fortunate to have been able to do so, and apply that knowledge to make the podcasts I work on sound as clean as possible. If you must know, I use ProTools and Adobe Audition.

Social Media Presence for Podcasts

Recording a podcast is one thing, promoting it is another. I help with identifying and reaching your target audience, to turn an internet stranger into a dedicated listener…maybe even a paid subscriber!

A Little Video Editing!

I do video editing too! While not my area of expertise, it’s a necessary skill, and one that I’m always trying to improve on. I use Adobe Premiere, basic programs like iMovie and Canva, and am learning DaVinci Resolve.

RSS Hosting & Website Management

Being able to publish your podcast “everywhere” at once is a crucial part of the podcasting process! I can help you determine which RSS host is best for you, and help you manage your podcast’s forum or website.

Team Collaboration!

I’m absolutely a team player! I like to consider myself responsible and timely. While I can handle all aspects of podcast and audio production, I don’t interrupt creative vision. Your podcast is your podcast, my job is to bring it to life!
